Case Study: Seneca Valley School District, PA

Seneca Valley School District

Seneca Valley School District in Pennsylvania uses Classroll.com's Custom Grade Card Option. Seneca Valley chose Classroll.com because they wanted to be able to:

  • Track secondary student attendance on a class by class basis
  • Implement a web-based lesson plan system
  • Track Student performance on PA Standards
  • Provide an efficient and consistent grading program to be used by all teachers
  • Provide parents web-based access to current attendance and grading information

By the conclusion of the 2005-2006 school year Seneca Valley will have  implemented their entire district using Classroll.com from kindergarten  through grade 12 encompassing approximately 8000 students.

The district decided to have Classroll.com create custom grade report cards beginning with their two (2) 5/6 Middle Schools.  Those grade  report cards were so well received by parents that this school year they continued with the creation of customized grade report cards in kindergarten through grade 4.  Those customized reports are currently  being piloted and initial feedback from the piloting teachers is very positive.

The grade report cards, with super easy teacher input, has allowed  Seneca Valley to combine Classroll.com's grade book, attendance, lesson  plan, graded assessment, and other features, with the additional   benefits of a customized grade card. They now have grade report cards   for all grade levels.  The district has received overwhelmingly positive feedback from parents about the ability to access their child's attendance and grading information, positive feedback from faculty about the ability to have a web-based grading system that calculates grades, and populates the grade report card automatically.

One of the best features repeatedly mentioned by teachers is the elimination of the need to complete and then exchange grade sheets at grade report time.  What a time saver!  Seneca is now in the midst of the lesson plan implementation with the tracking of state standards to follow.
